Out of control AIDS in Black America /
According to ABC News AIDS is responsible for the deaths of over 200,000 African Americans as of the year 2004 and is the leading cause of death among African American women between the ages of 25 and 44. This program utilizes on location footage, commentary, and interviews to explore issues of sex, race, neglect, and denial as they relate to the disproportionate incidence of AIDS among African Americans. One of its segments, a group discussion with Jesse Jackson, Calvin Butts and T.D. Jakes and several African-American women, is hosted by the late television journalist, Peter Jennings.

See how they run
"In 1999, celebrity Mayor Willie Brown ruled San Francisco and appeared to be a shoo-in for re-election to a second term. Twelve candidates wanted his job, but of these pretenders to the throne, the only threat was a write-in candidate - openly gay city supervisor and stand-up comedian Tom Ammiano. What ensued was a David vs. Goliath showdown mired in intense political backstabbing and media fighting that, lucky for us, was all captured on film. A sharp-witted, scandalous expose of an historic, only-in-San Francisco grassroots campaign, See how they run features a host of well known celebrities and political figures including Reverend Jesse Jackson, Sean Penn, Regis and Kathy Lee, Bill Maher and others to ultimately reveal all the behind-the-scenes mud-slinging, back room brawls and daily dramas that together helped shape this one-of-a-kind race."--Publisher's website.

Two nations of black America
There is a growing economic divide in black America. Today, America's black middle class is the largest in its history, yet roughly one-third of black America continues to live in poverty. This film measures the economic and social success of the civil rights movement and the gap between middle class and poor African-Americans through interviews with noted Afro-Americans and historical film footage.
